Well, I did the Singapore trip and it was lovely. I was very glad to see my sister and her boys a bit sooner than I would otherwise. Also the boys were very nicely behaved on the flights, but I do think it would have been very difficult for one adult to go the whole way without help.
I ended up being in Singapore for a whole day. It's a lovely city, really hot but beautiful. I was very aware the whole time about the overwhelming presence of the Government in the lives of the people. I don't know what the tax structure is there, but I assume it's very aggressive. The tour guides started many of their sentences with "The Government." As in, "The Government provides this housing" or "The Government says that every block of flats must be renovated every three years."
Anyway, it was a nice visit. It's one of those, "nice place to visit but I wouldn't want to live there" places. I wonder in which country the citizens have the greatest personal freedoms. Is it the USA? We are losing ours, bit by bit.
Let's see… what else have I not kept up on. Grace took her math test and did well. She is now taking the next level of math. She is thinking about quitting her job and find one where she wouldn't have to work so late into the night. She actually gave notice, but they begged her to stay. That feels good, obviously, but she really needs to think about her school and life needs.
Grace and Madeline have started selling Mark. cosmetics. It's a division of Avon designed for teens and young women. I like the products and I'll be getting some in the first order, even though I'm not a teen. If you want anything from them, let me know!
Madeline has also started to play bass guitar. Her dad bought one for her to use. It's really nice (and cute!) She has practiced every day since he started to teach her. I'm working on getting my pictures online and when I do I'll take one of her playing.
I am currently not reading a book, it's the first time in a very long time. Wednesday night my book group is talking about To Own a Dragon, and I haven't started it. I better get crackin'!
God Bless,
Sharon

No foolin'
This might seem like an april fools joke, but it isn't. I am going to Singapore and Tokyo to help Nan with the boys as they fly to the states. I'm excited and a bit anxious. I made a mistake with my flight reservationa and now as I'm tryng to fix it expedia is updating their website and they can't help me. They keep asking me to call back in 2 hours, but when I do they aren't done yet!!
I have added some fun links to this page. A couple are full of word fun and one is the page of one of my friends. She has made some very useful tools for homeschooling moms.
Check them out!!
